Offered here for your consideration is an incredibly heavy pair of period Art Nouveau Dutch sterling silver sauce boats from a large service by Ph. Saakes of the Hague.<br>They date to 1911.<br>These pieces are likely from a commissioned service. Saakes was a Dutch gold and silversmith in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He often worked for the royalty of Europe. His son, Th. Saakes, eventually took and expaneded the business.<br>The design of these sauceboats plays on a theme of water. The sides and feet mimic the undulating movement of water, and the reverse and handle are decorated with three dimensional cattails.<br>Simply a great example of Dutch Silver!<br>Overall Condition:<br>The pair is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with some very fine & light surface scratches, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.<br>Maker:<br>Ph.
